Superior Niks 3

Continuing our journey

Career: Criminal – on the Oracle path

  • I guess Seldom Sleepy lets her regain her energy back faster when she sleeps, not that she sleeps less. The current goal is to get her Never Weary. We’re about halfway to the amount of points needed for this.
  • We have one more thing to do for the Freelance Botanist aspiration, and it can’t be done until spring, which is only a few days away. But it’s annoying that it can’t be done right now.
  • We’re going to keep Niks on this career for the time being, she’s in a good routine, and she’s wanting to get married to Evan, so it’s best to do the personal stuff without the mess of getting a new job and the weird hours it entails, but the Oracle path of Criminal is complete.
  • Picked up no new skills this time, but completely leveled up a few. Also got no new traits, that’s okay. Saving up for the big one in the rewards, and about to finish this aspiration means we’ll get another.

Slogging through winter

  • Evan has been promoted to Space Ranger! He’s now the top of his field.
  • Niks has been promoted to The Oracle! She, too, is now in the top of her field. I guess this means I have to stop putting off marriage and kids and whatnot. Fine. FINE. But they’re having a spring wedding.
  • To celebrate their mutual career advancement, Niks has invited Evan out for a night on the town, just the two of them. They’re headed off to San Myshuno to the Stargazer’s Lounge.
  • Oh no. Somebody was talking to the toilet, so Evan peed himself. While on his date with Niks! How awful!
  • To fix the situation, Evan has decided to swim in the pool. In winter. Much like his mother, and her poor snowy weather decisions, he almost froze to death. But at least he’s cleaner now? I guess?
  • Despite these mishaps, the date has gone off remarkably well. So well, in fact, that Niks is thinking about proposing to Evan!

  • He’s said yes!

Enthusiastically.

  • Kenzie went to the store again, she was profitable, but I think maybe she needs to set up a fridge in there and perhaps a couch for napping? She seems to get exhausted fast. And I think also she needs to fire her elderly employee and hire somebody younger, not that she doesn’t like her employee, it’s just that she takes forever to walk to the customers or do anything.
  • Somebody, I won’t say who (It was me) didn’t think about how much it would suck to have outdoor offices during the winter. Now certain sims are attempting to go do their work while there’s a blizzard. I have made a huge mistake.
  • Everyone is headed to the Romance Festival. Evan and Niks are already feeling romantic and have gotten engaged, so this is just going to be an added bonus for them. Everyone is probably going to freeze to death, though, since I doubt that there was any foresight to put it inside at this time of year.
  • Well, since it’s Neighborhood Brawl as well as the Romance Festival, there’s people flirting and fighting everywhere. This is an interesting mix that I might actually be down with if it were a real event.
  • Niks has asked the Guru about her current relationship. He has told her that it is a match made to last the ages.
  • Kenzie is alternately flirting with and fighting one of the alien girls, Lauryn.
  • Ohno. Evan is fighting the Romance Guru… and because they were in the middle of the fight when Neighborhood Brawl ended, they now despise each other, and Kenzie is mad because she caught Evan fighting in public.
  • Apparently the weather held while the festival was going on, and now that it’s over, everyone is caught in a blizzard, trying to get home. It’s kinda funny, but I feel like this might be a huge game flaw that got overlooked.

After festival blizzard.

  • Kaye, one of the aliens, is standing in the kids’ playroom in the house and crying over the dollhouse. Do dollhouses represent something different on her planet? Is it a shrine one erects for their dead? Did she lose a child? Oh god. I don’t know why this is happening.

I don’t understand what’s happening.

  • Evan’s going back through the wormhole to explore. What will he find this time? A new pet? More aliens? (Oops, he was supposed to be at work. I hope he doesn’t get fired.) He’s met another alien friend, and now he’s digging up space artefacts to bring home for Niks. And… now he’s going to work in the middle of our exploration, thanks a lot, Evan.
  • Niks met a fellow through work a while back named Desmond. They were just work pals. He’s never even been over to the house. Since then, he’s called Niks every day asking her to go out to dinner.
  • Winterfest is upon us. We shall decorate and make everything festive. We shall wait the long days until the first day of spring while trying to plaster smiles on our faces. We don’t hate the snow. The snow is good. It is fine. It blankets everything in pureness and doesn’t cut down on the amount of fun we can have at all. We certainly don’t freeze when we go out in it.
  • Kenzie has decided to go on a date with Lauryn at Chez Llama, the alien has been asking her for days, but it’s always at a time when she’s about to go to bed, or in the middle of an event. Now it’s lined up that she’s free, and she’s going to take the opportunity. She hasn’t been on a date in a really long time, and after her last issue with the maid, I think she needs some companionship.
  • This might be further evidenced by the almost immediate desire to WooHoo with Lauryn as soon as they got to the restaurant.
  • They might be a perfect match. Lauryn has begun to clean the kitchen while they wait for a table.
  • Lauryn and Kenzie really really like each other. This is fantastic.

Look how cute they are!!!!

  • However, they do not like the people that are sitting near them. They are currently talking shit about them, but it seems to be strengthening the connection, so do you, gals, do you.
  • … either Kenzie or Lauryn got their meal for free… (the pop up says “for a star like you, it’s on the house). Weird.
  • The date went fabulously. They chatted the entire time, flirted with one another a lot, and stayed up way past their bedtimes. Now they’re going to their respective homes, which is a good thing. Kenzie needs a cooling off period before she makes decision she’s not ready for. I have a feeling that Lauryn is not the type to mess around, she’s in it all or nothing.
  • Time for Winterfest! Everybody will have a quick nap before they get to the festivities, though, since it seems that nobody took care of themselves while I was helping Kenzie with her date.
  • They’ve all had a nice lovely meal, sang together, decorated the tree, and now they’re opening presents.

Tree decorating and present time! And Niks getting into gifts when she’s not supposed to.

  • Somebody gave Niks pet poop. Isla got a train set, but just the cargo car of it. Kenzie got some turquoise. And Evan got a Littlehaven postcard. These aren’t very good gifts. Do Sims suck at gift giving?
  • Disappointed with her gift, Niks snuck one more and got Ozinold. She’s happier with it, but Evan caught her doing it.
  • Father Winter has appeared! And oddly, there’s an option to fight him for gifts? WTF.

  • Instead of fighting him, the family has opted to talk to him and invite him to sit for a while. They can ask for presents this way, like sane and rational people. Niks got a robot vacuum dock, Evan got The Schmapple Coffee (whatever that is), Kenzie got one, too. Niks gave Father Winter some of her bees’ honey. Isla has received a Hopper (which has turned out to be a little figurine). All in all it was a very good Winterfest.
  • Lauryn has asked Kenzie out on another date, they’re going to go to a secret concert.
  • The easel downstairs has a really creepy picture on it, and it seems that none of my sims are responsible, because none of them can interact with it. Where did it come from? Why is it half finished? Why does it appear that a child was doodling on the canvas? There are no children here.

Creepy-ass painting.

  • Kenzie has wandered away from the house again, and made a dog friend, again. This dog’s name is Huey.  Oh, now she’s on to a cat. A very sick cat named Squee. I think Kenzie is desperate for company of any kind.
  • Finally Lauryn has called again, and this time they’re going to go hang out in a park. I don’t know how good of an idea this is, as it’s STILL WINTER, LAURYN. But maybe they’ll have a good time.
  • The park that Lauryn has taken Kenzie to is a wedding destination. I think it may be a way-too-strong signal of what Lauryn wants. Fortunately, it has also given me an idea of where Evan and Niks should get married.

Bonus Pictures:

Isla’s mysterious spots, from last time, forgot to include the picture.

This guy from the night that Niks and Evan got engaged. Why. Why are you wearing those pants.

Niks and Kenzie played outside together, making snowpals, and this is the result. I think they’re adorable.

Seven Deadly Sims – The Sims Themselves

Okay, when I started this blog, I named it Seven Deadly Sims, and that was for a purpose. I had this idea to make a sim for every sin and have them all in one house. But I got caught up with the vampires, and with my main house, so it’s taken me a while to set these guys up.

I let the add-a-sim generator pick their genders, except for Lust, who I thought should be genderfluid/non-binary, and Pride, who came up as male, but I decided I wanted to have an even ratio. Then I randomized each one five times, except for Anger, who stayed with her first appearance. They live in Newcrest, because I wanted to have a bit of room to expand as money comes in, and since there’s nothing there, maybe I can add some cool stuff for them, really customize it.

I’ve named them all after their sin, to make it easy, and then their last name is Deadly, to make that easy. I streamed on Twitch while I made them (https://www.twitch.tv/darthrabies), and we chose how they would look, and the colors for their outfits. Everyone is color coded through all of their outfits. It took a long time, but worth it.

Let’s introduce them!

Here we have Sloth. Color: Yellow. Traits: Noncommittal, Lazy, Slob. Apriation: Friend of Animals. Job: None

Sloth has some of the ugliest clothing. Mismatched, messy looking. It was a lot of fun.

Greed. Color: Green. Traits: Materialistic, Kleptomaniac, Ambitious. Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy. Job: Business branch.

Anger. Wrath (I cheated a little and didn’t randomize her, because she was adorable upon first appearance.) Color: Red. Traits: Mean, Self Assured, Hot-Headed. Aspiration: Public Enemy. Job: Secret Agent branch.

Lust. Our non-binary character. They had a more masculine body at first, but the posture they had was driving me and one of my streamers crazy. The feminine body type solved it. Color: Purple. Traits: Outgoing, Romantic, Evil. Aspiration: Serial Romantic. Job: Entertainer branch.

Gluttony. Color: Blue. Traits: Glutton, Bro, Art Lover. Aspiration: Master Chef. Job: Culinary branch.

Envy. Color: Grey/Green (I realized that I should have made him the green color way after I’d gone through and done all of Greed’s. So he’s a darker, more muted green with grey.) Traits: Jealous, Romantic, Hot-Headed. Aspiration: Soulmate. Job: Style Influencer branch.

Pride. (Already my favorite.) Color: Black. Traits: Snob, Perfectionist, Bro. Aspiration: Friend of the World. Job: Doctor branch.

And here they all are!

Fun fact: They aren’t related because I forgot to set it, so there might be some inter-house mingling, which could be interesting.

Another fun fact: They live in a house with two real bedrooms, and a converted garage. It’s only got one bathroom.

My goal here is to be less controlling of the sims and let them kind of play out their personalities more freely. I’ll nudge them along to what they have to do for work, and whims, but for the most part, I think they’re going to have a lot of freedom, because I want to see how fast this goes bad. And believe me, this is going to go bad. Their personalities clash, they’ve only got one bathroom, and one computer. Currently they have less than 2k of household funds.

Did I mention the house is small? Cause it’s small.

EDIT: I’ve changed Anger to Wrath, since that’s the more widely known version of the sin.

Wait, I haven’t played in two weeks!?

Created along with the Superior Niks 2 post

  • Right off the bat, Niks has been promoted to An0nymous Ghost at work. Nice pay bump with it. She did go to work having to use the bathroom, though, so I hope she doesn’t pee herself.
  • I think the maid wants to have a baby with Kenzie. Every time they talk, he thinks about it. This is not happening.
  • Evan keeps getting sick. It’s a constant rotation of being ill and then taking meds and then getting ill again.
  • There’s a whole money tree grove now, since the discovery of a glitch that gives more seeds. I have plans to set Niks up as an incredibly rich sim, so she never has to worry about things she wants or needs. By the time I’m done, her great great grandchildren won’t have to work a day, if they don’t want to.
  • Niks is getting much better at bee keeping, he bees are no longer enraged every time we check in on them.
  • Kenzie tried hitting on the maid again. This time, he wasn’t having it. She’s super embarrassed now, and he just stopped working and left trash in the middle of the house. This is how lawsuits happen, Kenzie. You can’t sexually harass your employees. There are hashtags about this.
  • Evan has been promoted to Sheriff of the Stars. He’s starting to rake in the cash now.
  • Isla got yet another raise. She’s really killing it in this field. I’m really glad that she discovered it, it really helped her turn her life around. My little late bloomer.
  • In a rare show of family solidarity, the lot of them are going to Chez Llama to celebrate A Night Out. The last time they were all doing the same thing was the ill-fated vacation where Kenzie and Isla had a horrible time and got sent home because they were ruining the whole thing. We’ll see how this goes.

Everyone at Chez Llama, actually sitting down together.

  • The night is going well. Niks is making friends with Evan’s family, and that’s important. Maybe the next vacation won’t go so sour.
  • Except Isla has passed out in the restaurant.
  • They’ve stayed out too late, everyone is passing out as soon as they stand up to leave. Other than that, it was a great night. They got free food, all of them enjoyed it, they had great conversation and now Niks is a lot more friendly with the people she’s been living with. Maybe she and Evan can seriously start thinking about getting engaged now.
  • Before she left, Kenzie attempted to clean the kitchen of the restaurant. She got yelled at a bunch.
  • Evan is almost constantly thinking about babies now.
  • I think we got a new maid…
  • Evan’s gone through a wormhole… adventure?
  • Evan is on a strange planet. He’s collecting many samples to take home. I wonder if Niks can study these and find out more.
  • He’s met an alien! Her name is Kaye Shafer. OH! Another! His name is Sri Olvera! They actually look a bit more robotic than alien, but maybe that’s just their outfits? If they’re outfits, they’re super cool. A third! Lauryn Golden. So many new alien friends!

Evan exploring, and Kaye! First alien contact!

  • Apparently there are no bathrooms in space, so Evan’s leaving before he pees himself. It’s probably a better idea to go home than do that in front of your new alien friends. BUT. He’s taking the alien friends with him. Maybe they’ll enjoy themselves. Maybe they’ll move in! MAYBE THEY’LL BECOME FAMILY!
  •  Isla is flirting with Kaye. A lot.
  • Aaand everybody left very suddenly.
  • Niks had kind of a bad day at work, but then she was promoted to Net Demon, so I think it evens out. Another great bonus and a pay raise, too.
  • It feels like Seldom Sleepy is not doing a lot for Niks. She’s still tired all the time. I need to get her the one where she never sleeps, I think.
  • Evan has decided it’s wise to drink before he goes to work. Okay. I guess that’s a thing we’re doing now.
  • Maybe drinking before going into space is a good thing. He came back with a space slug for a pet.
  • They haven’t been able to find time to hang out, since they work opposite schedules, but Niks and Evan have made a bit of time to WooHoo in the rocket again. That seems to be their favorite spot for it. I mean, why wouldn’t it be? It’s a rocket, and they go into space when they do it.
  • We have acquired over a million Simoleons. The family is officially rich.
  • Kenzie has wandered away from the house again. This time to… stand under a bridge and play on her phone?
  • I think Loki died… she’s no longer in Kenzie’s contacts… (Just as I typed that I got “Loki’s spirit is fading away” Damnit.)

I apologize for the quality of this photo. I just needed proof. Whatchoo doin girl? Coulda stayed home to play on your phone, yanno.

RIP Loki. We didn’t quite get to make you our dog. Or find out why you dislike the dishwasher so much.

  • Everyone is really into Harvestfest, but there was some issues with the gnomes. Some of the gnomes got really angry. Attempts were made to appease them, but only Isla managed to. Niks got electrocuted for her efforts.

Don’t piss off gnomes, apparently.

Hey, uh. What are you guys doing? I mean. It’s cool and all, don’t mean to offend. But… what?

  • It’s the first snow of Winter.
  • Kenzie decided to go out and play in the snow. In her jammies. Naturally she almost froze to death.
  • Recovered from her hypothermia, Kenzie headed over to the shop. Since she sold a lot of the stuff last time, some time was spent converting it into an art gallery. Looks really nice, if I do say so myself. The store brings in quite a bit more money now. She doesn’t have to keep it open as long to turn a profit, which is nice.
  • Isla’s got some kind of whole body rash going on. I didn’t even notice until I saw her scratching a lot. Where did she get a rash!?
  • Both Evan and Niks are thinking about marriage and babies.  I think I have to stop putting it off for them. She’s almost at the end of her Career Branch, so I’ll sort these whims when that happens.
  • Everybody’s headed out to the Spice Festival. Let’s see who can grab the title this time!
  • While at the karaoke bar next to the festival, Niks finally met a vampire. Vladislaus has made an appearance. She’s so excited. Or would be, if she wasn’t exhausted.
  • Evan and Niks are best friends now!
  • Isla has gotten YET ANOTHER raise. She makes 378 an hour now.

Niks upgrades the plumbing while Evan has a nice bubble bath. Kay.

  • Evan has found some stuff in space. A dead red coral, and … a pink whale. … From space.

Continuing on our journey to build the ultimate Sim

Career: Criminal – on the Oracle path

  • For some reason, the stuff didn’t pop for Public Enemy (it didn’t notice that we’d already gotten past a lot of the criminal career), so we’re switching to Chief of Mischief.
  • Changed it again to Freelance Botanist, since she’s doing a bunch of stuff in the garden.
  • Acquired the Gourmet Cooking skill.
  • Working on getting Niks’ repair skill maxed out, because right now Kenzie is the one who can fix anything, and eventually she’s not going to be there to do that.
  • Niks has completely leveled up in Mischief. (Thank fuck. That one is so hard to do.)
  • Evan and Niks are now Best Friends.

Not many newly gained skills this time, but certainly a few levels raised.

Let’s get on with life, shall we

This post was built at the same time as the Superior Niks post.

Everybody is going about their lives pretty smoothly. The focus is kind of on Niks the most, because she’s going to be The One, but by proxy, Evan is getting attention, too, since she’s his intended partner.

  • Vacations over, time to return to real life for Evan and Niks.
  •  Evan is thinking a lot about babies. He’s going to have to wait. Niks has a career she’s into, and a lot of life aspirations that don’t include kids. Thankfully they’re not going to get too old soon (cause aging up is still off for now.)
  • Dorian’s spirit is fading away. I have to make a decision. Do I let him stay around? Do I let him go away? He’s been a little obnoxious, and he’s started to break things.
  • I’m gonna let him go.
  • Niks had a fairly bad day at work. She tried, and she did what she thought was right, and it wasn’t. Now she’s stressed.
  • There’s a dog on the lot, and Evan’s decided he’s going to go introduce himself to it. Rudely. What the fuck, Evan. You bring a dog home from work and then ignore it, and now you’re going to do a Rude Introduction to another dog. What is wrong with you.
  • The dog did not like that.
  • Leaving Kenzie alone for a bit to do her own thing, it has been discovered that she is a social media junkie. Every few minutes she’s updating her status. She’s gained a fair following, but this is not what she should be doing with her life.
  • Niks apparently made the best sandwich in the whole of existence. She keeps exclaiming at every bite and is super happy right now.
  • Niks is the first one to use the new pool. It took them long enough to realize it’s down there.
  • She wants to get married to Evan. Not even just get engaged, she outright wants to marry him. That’s so cute. However, they don’t really know each other well yet, and she’s living in his family’s house and isn’t friends with any of them, so I think we’ll work on that first.
  • Dorian has asked Isla out on a date, even though he’s dead, and she can’t go because she’s gotta be at work. It’s a little heartbreaking. The poor guy just can’t get anything right.
  • Niks has two days off, so she’s headed out on the town to see what kind of trouble she can get into, pretty literally. Her current aspiration is Public Enemy, and she doesn’t know enough people to be able to get to some of the requirements.
  • We have now met, and made angry, a new sim named Houda. Houda does not like Niks, thus fulfilling a part of the new requirements.
  • Oh shit. Niks just threw a drink in some poor woman’s face because she’s in a bad mood. I think this woman may be the second one to fill the requirement. She’s already pissed.
  • Yup.
  • To calm down, she’s decided to talk to cats. She’s met a cat named Cashew who doesn’t like her very much, and a cat named Doodle who is obsessed with airplanes.
  • We have entered fall.
  • Isla got a raise at work again. She can’t actually get promoted, but all the extra money is welcome.
  • Evan got a raise AND a promotion. He’s become a Space Ranger.
  • Niks is trying to be a bee keeper, but her bees are really really angry. All the time. She gets stung so much.
  • Kenzie is at the beach, randomly befriending dogs. I don’t even know when she left the house. She’s found a stray dog named Loki and has become friends with it, and now she’s trying to take Loki home.
  • Niks has been promoted to Elite Hacker. She got a good raise with it, too.
  • Kenzie refuses to go home, and now she’s eating random food from the beach, and I don’t know where she got it, or how fresh it is. (finally got her to go home. It was an ordeal. She kept sleeping on benches like a bum, and playing on her phone.)
  • Everybody had a very good prank day, even Kenzie, who hates it. Nobody bothered her with it, nobody pranked her, so it was a good day. Evan, Isla, and Niks just pranked each other all day and had a really fabulous time.
  • Kenzie is taking Loki to the vet, the hope is to get the dog better, make friends, and try to adopt it. This will be heartbreaking, because Loki is an elder, and already looks to be ready to go. But this is Kenzie’s whim currently. Adopt a dog. So this is what we’ll do. Then everybody is going to cry, and I’m going to be like, man. Why.
  • How’d you get flirty, Isla? Who were you talking to?
  • Dorian just called KENZIE to ask her out. WTF, BRO. That’s not okay. I thought your spirit was fading anyway, go the hell away.
  • Apparently Loki hates the dishwasher.
  • WHY CAN’T WE ADOPT THIS DAMNED DOG ALREADY.
  • Abbie calls Evan every day to see if he wants to get breakfast. No, bitch. You’re toxic.
  • Kenzie has begun to flirt with the new maid, Daichi. She’s getting frisky in her old age. Hitting on these young bucks, watching romances, feeling flirty all the time.
  • Giving up on adopting Loki right now. I know it’s possible, but there must be an absurdly high friendship threshold for it.
  • Evan messed up at work. He was patrolling and didn’t check some alien kid’s pocket, and the kid robbed a store later with a weapon. He feels like he could have prevented it. Now he’s crying in bed.
  • They’re still passing around Blessing of the Ancients, they’ve been back from vacation for a while, and it’s still going through them every time they speak to each other.
  • Evan went into space on his own, and found himself on a strange swampy planet where he was confronted by a tiny green man who spoke his language, albeit a little strangely. The tiny green man implored Evan for food, and then sent him off with a strange weapon into a cave to fight a dark version of himself. When that was over, the tiny green man pointed at Evan’s sunken rocket and lifted it into the sky with some strange magic.
  • Niks has set a good example with her cleaning. The rest of the family has stopped leaving plates out and puddles on the floor for the maid to clean up.
  • Niks has gotten into a bar fight and won.

Superior Niks

I have decided to embark upon a journey. We shall make Niks into the most amazing sim ever. She will go through all the aspirations, she will have as many skills as possible, delve into every job. She will be superior to every other sim. Can we do it? How can we not.

We are starting her on this endeavor with some things already in place:

Traits: Geek, Cheerful, Self-assured, and Business Savvy

 Skills: Charisma – 1, Comedy – 1, Cooking – 3, Fitness – 1, Gardening – 3, Logic – 1, Mischief – 6, Photography – 1, Singing – 1, Vampire Lore – 2, Video Gaming – 4, Violin – 2, Writing – 1, and she just got Selvadoradian Culture from that vacation.

Career: Criminal – on the Oracle path

  • First things first, we have to get rid of how much she sleeps. She sleeps more than any other sim that I’ve ever made. I’m going to go into the rewards store and purchase Seldom Sleepy. This will help in getting more whims completed, and gaining more aspiration points to purchase other things.
  • Her first aspiration was Fabulously Wealthy. She’s almost there on this one, so we’ll keep at it for now.
  • Niks has acquired the painting skill from a whim where she wanted to start a confident painting.
  • Leveled up Video Gaming to 4.
  • Acquired programming skill.
  • Acquired Flower Arranging skill.
  • Acquired Handiness.
  • Acquired repair because she broke the stove, and I made her fix it.
  • Niks decided to make herself a drink, and gained the mixology skill.
  • She has completed the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration. With this, she has gained Shrewd, which means the household funds will get interest. Should be a good amount of it, too. We’re going to go for Mansion Baron next, since a lot of that has also been covered by Fabulously Wealthy and just the sheer amount of crap I have added to this home.
  • Mansion Baron was too easy to get. Most of it was done, I just had to purchase the columns. So I did that. She is now also Thrifty, which gives us 10% rebates on all our build mode things from now on. Which is awesome, but would have been nice to have prior to this, considering everything that has been build. That’s okay. There will be more. We’re going to move on to Public Enemy. She’s already in the criminal career, and I feel like if we don’t do this one now, it’ll be a while before we can get to it.
  • Using aspiration points from her recent successes, I have added Savant (to help her gain skills faster), Gym Rat, Observant, and Speed Cleaner (somebody has to clean in this house, we can’t always wait for the maid).
  • Acquired the archeology skill while on vacation in Selvadorada.
  • Purchased Morning Sun and Night Owl.

A Vacation For Reals This Time!

The Vangs have decided to embark on their seasonal vacation. Back to Selvadorada. This time they’re going for longer (since it’s not just me trying to fix a game glitch). Evan and Niks will likely explore the jungle again while Kenzie and Isla do whatever they want to do. Everybody’s way stressed out and tired of the grind, so this should help. Hopefully.

  • The twins have decided to use this vacation to reconnect. They haven’t been very active in one another’s lives since before Evan was born. They’re hanging out and chatting a lot, reading books, and dancing together.

Everybody bonding.

  • Niks is exploring the jungle and making some bad decisions. She has: tried to watch a Jaguar and fallen into a cave of bats, accidentally disturbed fireflies which bother some sloths, tried to distract the fireflies but made them angry – which then made the sloths angry enough to make tree branches fall onto her head, and gotten herself exhausted because she wanted to avoid some totems that looked nasty.
  • Finally, having some luck, Niks makes friends with some sloths and finds a relic. She and Evan make it all the way to the temple. Evan is not having such a great time. He forgot food, and can’t find a bush to fertilize.
  • Inside the temple, Niks gets to work exploring, while Evan passes out in a pee bush outside. When he wakes up, he discovers a bar inside, and makes them both energy drinks. He tries to go sit by the pool to enjoy his, but gets attacked by fire flies, and set on fire.
  • While Evan tries to figure his life out, Niks is busy exploring the place and solving puzzles. She has, unfortunately, contracted something, and been almost hit by a dart, and then actually hit by a dart, but she’s also gotten them further into the temple.
  • Niks has gained something called Ancient Joy, and apparently it’s contagious.
  • It’s night in the temple, and strange things have awakened. Niks has made friends with a skeleton named Boneita Esqueleto. And also she’s been set on fire by fire flies.
  • Niks has given Boneita a gift of a sugar skull. Boneita seems to really like this gift. She has taught Niks a skeleton joke in return.

  • The trio have decided to go for a swim.

  • Evan has been electrocuted a little by lightning bugs.
  • The power has been shut off back home because nobody remembered to pay the bills before they left. Thankfully cellphones exist.
  • The sickness has gotten to Niks. The lightning bugs have gotten to Evan. They’re both dazed in the middle of nowhere. This is probably bad. They’re wandering around in bathing suits, also.
  • Evan is not as into exploring as Niks is, he keeps hanging out at the random bar in the temple and dancing. He’s found a new dance partner by the name of Tibia Maximus. She is, like Boneita, a skeleton.
  • Niks has triggered something wrong, and it scared her so much she peed herself.
  • Isla and Kenzie are NOT enjoying their time here anymore, and it’s annoying Niks. She’s sent Isla home, ending her aunt’s vacation early. If Kenzie ever comes out of the jungle, I imagine she’ll be sent home too, since she’s moping around and crying.  Oh, nope. Evan did it first. Harsh, Evan, sending your mom home from vacation like that.
  • Niks has found her way to the heart of the temple! She has explored as far as she can, and has gained some pretty great rewards. She’ll study some things before she leaves, but she’s anxious to get back to a warm shower and a soft bed.
  • Aaaaand she’s been poisoned again. This time worse. She needs an antidote now, she can’t explore any further. Off to the library. At least it’s easy to order, but she really wanted to explore more. Can’t do that when you’re so dazed you keep dancing by yourself in the middle of an ancient temple.
  • Evan and Niks are spreading the Blessing of the Ancients like some kind of godly herp. Everyone they come into contact with is getting it.
  • Niks is going to need an archeology table when she gets home, she seems to be having a great time authenticating artifacts. Maybe she and Evan can share that office, and expand it some.

  • Back at their rented spot, cleaned, fed, rested, Evan and Niks are quite happy. They’ve taken some time to relax and woohoo before their vacation ends.

The House, expanded

Here’s the house pictures I was talking about needing!

Reminder: The whole lot was moved from Willow Creek to Brindleton Bay because of size constraints in the previous lot. The house began as a very small, one bedroom unit that has just been added onto here and there as space was needed. It has become this ugly monstrosity that I love very much. Everybody needed more room for things (particularly outside things, such as a garden and a telescope), and I wanted to be able to expand. The decision was made during the last play day.

I’ve clearly added some roofs to my roof. I was playing around and I kinda like it.

Niks’ money tree garden, with all the money trees we used other sim aspiration points to get.

Evan’s rocket (not the dirty kind), office, and telescope.

The interior of Evan’s office. It’s a nice sanctuary. He’s recently allowed Niks to also use it a little bit.

The expanded family cemetery. Apparently sometimes urns become headstones? It happened, so I made the plot bigger.

Third floor bedrooms and playroom.

Second floor master suite, and … piano bar? I don’t know. Shut up. It’s a thing.

Main floor, kitchen, dining room, Isla’s room, living room.

Original basement: Art room, writing room, expanded gym area, and strays bedroom.

AND NOW! THE BEST PART! THE NEW POOL. I love this pool. I love this pool a lot.

Look at this majesty! LOOK AT IT.

It’s filled with glory.

Change-up

The lot that the main house is on is big, but it’s proving to not be big enough. I’m trying to decide if I want to move them over to Brindleton Bay. I’m on the edge of the decision. I want more room. But I also want to take my house over there. It’s so ugly, and huge, and monstrous, and I love it. Let’s see what we can do.

Well. I got the lot all moved over, but now we don’t have enough money to move in. So I think I’ll try selling a bunch of shit, since I just copied the lot to where I wanted it, and it has all of our stuff in it.

Selling stuff did not help enough. I have razed the home on the new lot, and we’re going to try something else.

Broke Delilah off of the main household and used her to buy the lot where I want to be. I still don’t have the funds to place the lot.

Delilah is back with the rest of the family, I guess we’ll just work on getting the funds up? This is annoying. I made my house too expensive to move into.

  • Everybody is going to the GeekCon. Not everybody is going to be happy about this.
  • Evan went to space and did some space trading. He’s pretty excited about the venture, but got so sleepy that he took a nap in the middle of the GeekCon space.
  • Aging up is still off, especially now that I’m trying to move them all to a new lot. I just have to remember to not add anything to the house so it can stay the same space when I’ve finally got enough cash to do this.
  • Delilah’s royalties are almost out. She’ll be going as soon as they are.
  • Isla is actually sad about losing Dorian. I find this funny, considering how little she cared about him when he was alive.
  • Kenzie keeps cranking out Masterpieces. This is great. Every little bit helps.
  • Everybody is dying of overheating! WTF. I had to put in a thermostat to stop it from happening.
  • Niks and Evan have gone on a date to celebrate a Night On The Town. They’re going back to Chez Llama, and hopefully it’ll be a better time than it was when they were there with Abbie.
  • Evan and Niks have made their relationship official! The date was a disaster, the food was awful, but they’re still going to make a go of it. And since it was Night On The Town, the food was free, and nobody had to pay for that trash.
  • Niks got promoted on her day off. Now she’s a Minor Crimelord. Look at her, getting ahead when she’s not even there.
  • I gotta get Delilah out of here, she’s started to haunt and break things.

I finally got enough cash together to move the household. And thankfully, selling all the old furniture brought me back to about half of my savings. Which means nobody is going to die of starvation. I’m going to leave Lillie where she is for now, since I don’t want to lose the Goth house. They can go visit her there just fine. I did cheat a little and bring the money tree over, and since it was duplicated, I have two now.

Evan also now has a lab/office for his space stuff, which will be good for him to be able to be away from people when he’s working, since it’s been a hassle to get him any kind of privacy.

The new lot is so big, there might be a pool later, though I had originally thought a second basement indoor pool would be a fun thing to build, I might do one outside.

  • Everybody is settled, the welcome wagon has come to greet the new neighbors. It’s all good.
  • Abbie is all about trying to get Evan’s attention now that he wants nothing to do with her. Just goes to show that she really is a shit person.

All of the “retired” sims had a bunch of aspiration points that I used before I booted them away, and I was reminded that I bought a bunch of money tree seeds when I was redoing the house, so now Niks has a bunch more gardening to do.

I’ve also decided that I want to make Niks into a SuperSim. She’s going to get into everything and be completely awesome. I’ve never done this before, and I think she’s the perfect Sim to do it with.

  • With Dorian gone, somebody needed to take care of the store, so Kenzie went to have a go at it. She took with her a whole bunch of paintings that were kicking around (accidentally duplicated with the move because somebody said online that they wouldn’t duplicate with the house, so I saved them in the inventory).
  • Kenzie is much better than Dorian at selling things and making profit.
  • Delilah’s royalties have run out, it is time for her to go to the Netherworld and be with the rest of her family. (I’m really glad this happened before she started to get really into breaking things around the house.)
  • Dorian has shown up now that Delilah is gone. I might have to fix this.

Isla is stuck at work. I’m trying to figure out how to fix this, she can’t take care of herself, and I can’t get into her inventory. I’m making the family go on vacation to see if it’ll reset things. Here’s hoping I don’t have to make her quit her job. She’s the one bringing in most of the family money right now.

  • Off to Selvadorada. (it worked. She’s no longer stuck at work.)
  • Isla is the only one in the family who is afraid of thunderstorms. Too bad it’s storming like a mfer on their vacation. This is not going to be peaceful or relaxing for her at all.
  • Niks and Evan decided to explore the jungle on their own. Niks went rifling through somebody’s abandoned camp and got stung by a scorpion. Instead of trying to find a cure, she and Evan found a bush to WooHoo in. Priorities, am I right?
  • Niks has ended up with a spider infestation. Maybe doing it in a bush wasn’t a great idea, kiddo.
  • With Niks poisoned, everyone decided to go to the market to see if they could find her a cure. The market is, of course, right next to a bar. Guess what happened instead of finding a cure. This bitch better not die.
  • The family discovered that bone dust is needed to cure Niks. Or they can buy something online for it. Thankfully there’s a computer in the museum.
  • Welp. Vacation ended before they could get there. She’ll have to order it when they get home. Hopefully she can. Or maybe she can just go to the hospital. This is absurd. She keeps getting dazed, and then being okay, which can’t be a good sign. Also the green circles all over her body. Those can’t be good, either.
  • Oh good, she’s ordered the cure and taken it. Green circles are gone, and she’s fine again. Just in time for work.
  • Niks was promoted to DigiTheif. She is an Oracle.

I have given them a pool. It’s in the basement. I’m pretty fond of it, honestly. It took a while to put together, and I wasn’t sure if it would turn out okay, but I think it did. A lot of other things have been changed/added to the house since it moved lots, so I’m going to have to do a pictures post later.

  • Evan has been promoted to Astronaut. Go Evan! He also brought home a stray with him. It is not a nice dog. He’s still trying to make friends with it, though.
  • He brought it inside, gave it a bath, and then went to bed. Thankfully the dog did not stay around once he stopped paying attention to it. This is not the time to get a dog, EVAN.
  • Niks has the worst luck when it comes to getting hurt. She was out playing in the rain and got hit by lightning. Twice.
