The House, expanded

Here’s the house pictures I was talking about needing!

Reminder: The whole lot was moved from Willow Creek to Brindleton Bay because of size constraints in the previous lot. The house began as a very small, one bedroom unit that has just been added onto here and there as space was needed. It has become this ugly monstrosity that I love very much. Everybody needed more room for things (particularly outside things, such as a garden and a telescope), and I wanted to be able to expand. The decision was made during the last play day.

I’ve clearly added some roofs to my roof. I was playing around and I kinda like it.

Niks’ money tree garden, with all the money trees we used other sim aspiration points to get.

Evan’s rocket (not the dirty kind), office, and telescope.

The interior of Evan’s office. It’s a nice sanctuary. He’s recently allowed Niks to also use it a little bit.

The expanded family cemetery. Apparently sometimes urns become headstones? It happened, so I made the plot bigger.

Third floor bedrooms and playroom.

Second floor master suite, and … piano bar? I don’t know. Shut up. It’s a thing.

Main floor, kitchen, dining room, Isla’s room, living room.

Original basement: Art room, writing room, expanded gym area, and strays bedroom.

AND NOW! THE BEST PART! THE NEW POOL. I love this pool. I love this pool a lot.

Look at this majesty! LOOK AT IT.

It’s filled with glory.

Change-up

The lot that the main house is on is big, but it’s proving to not be big enough. I’m trying to decide if I want to move them over to Brindleton Bay. I’m on the edge of the decision. I want more room. But I also want to take my house over there. It’s so ugly, and huge, and monstrous, and I love it. Let’s see what we can do.

Well. I got the lot all moved over, but now we don’t have enough money to move in. So I think I’ll try selling a bunch of shit, since I just copied the lot to where I wanted it, and it has all of our stuff in it.

Selling stuff did not help enough. I have razed the home on the new lot, and we’re going to try something else.

Broke Delilah off of the main household and used her to buy the lot where I want to be. I still don’t have the funds to place the lot.

Delilah is back with the rest of the family, I guess we’ll just work on getting the funds up? This is annoying. I made my house too expensive to move into.

  • Everybody is going to the GeekCon. Not everybody is going to be happy about this.
  • Evan went to space and did some space trading. He’s pretty excited about the venture, but got so sleepy that he took a nap in the middle of the GeekCon space.
  • Aging up is still off, especially now that I’m trying to move them all to a new lot. I just have to remember to not add anything to the house so it can stay the same space when I’ve finally got enough cash to do this.
  • Delilah’s royalties are almost out. She’ll be going as soon as they are.
  • Isla is actually sad about losing Dorian. I find this funny, considering how little she cared about him when he was alive.
  • Kenzie keeps cranking out Masterpieces. This is great. Every little bit helps.
  • Everybody is dying of overheating! WTF. I had to put in a thermostat to stop it from happening.
  • Niks and Evan have gone on a date to celebrate a Night On The Town. They’re going back to Chez Llama, and hopefully it’ll be a better time than it was when they were there with Abbie.
  • Evan and Niks have made their relationship official! The date was a disaster, the food was awful, but they’re still going to make a go of it. And since it was Night On The Town, the food was free, and nobody had to pay for that trash.
  • Niks got promoted on her day off. Now she’s a Minor Crimelord. Look at her, getting ahead when she’s not even there.
  • I gotta get Delilah out of here, she’s started to haunt and break things.

I finally got enough cash together to move the household. And thankfully, selling all the old furniture brought me back to about half of my savings. Which means nobody is going to die of starvation. I’m going to leave Lillie where she is for now, since I don’t want to lose the Goth house. They can go visit her there just fine. I did cheat a little and bring the money tree over, and since it was duplicated, I have two now.

Evan also now has a lab/office for his space stuff, which will be good for him to be able to be away from people when he’s working, since it’s been a hassle to get him any kind of privacy.

The new lot is so big, there might be a pool later, though I had originally thought a second basement indoor pool would be a fun thing to build, I might do one outside.

  • Everybody is settled, the welcome wagon has come to greet the new neighbors. It’s all good.
  • Abbie is all about trying to get Evan’s attention now that he wants nothing to do with her. Just goes to show that she really is a shit person.

All of the “retired” sims had a bunch of aspiration points that I used before I booted them away, and I was reminded that I bought a bunch of money tree seeds when I was redoing the house, so now Niks has a bunch more gardening to do.

I’ve also decided that I want to make Niks into a SuperSim. She’s going to get into everything and be completely awesome. I’ve never done this before, and I think she’s the perfect Sim to do it with.

  • With Dorian gone, somebody needed to take care of the store, so Kenzie went to have a go at it. She took with her a whole bunch of paintings that were kicking around (accidentally duplicated with the move because somebody said online that they wouldn’t duplicate with the house, so I saved them in the inventory).
  • Kenzie is much better than Dorian at selling things and making profit.
  • Delilah’s royalties have run out, it is time for her to go to the Netherworld and be with the rest of her family. (I’m really glad this happened before she started to get really into breaking things around the house.)
  • Dorian has shown up now that Delilah is gone. I might have to fix this.

Isla is stuck at work. I’m trying to figure out how to fix this, she can’t take care of herself, and I can’t get into her inventory. I’m making the family go on vacation to see if it’ll reset things. Here’s hoping I don’t have to make her quit her job. She’s the one bringing in most of the family money right now.

  • Off to Selvadorada. (it worked. She’s no longer stuck at work.)
  • Isla is the only one in the family who is afraid of thunderstorms. Too bad it’s storming like a mfer on their vacation. This is not going to be peaceful or relaxing for her at all.
  • Niks and Evan decided to explore the jungle on their own. Niks went rifling through somebody’s abandoned camp and got stung by a scorpion. Instead of trying to find a cure, she and Evan found a bush to WooHoo in. Priorities, am I right?
  • Niks has ended up with a spider infestation. Maybe doing it in a bush wasn’t a great idea, kiddo.
  • With Niks poisoned, everyone decided to go to the market to see if they could find her a cure. The market is, of course, right next to a bar. Guess what happened instead of finding a cure. This bitch better not die.
  • The family discovered that bone dust is needed to cure Niks. Or they can buy something online for it. Thankfully there’s a computer in the museum.
  • Welp. Vacation ended before they could get there. She’ll have to order it when they get home. Hopefully she can. Or maybe she can just go to the hospital. This is absurd. She keeps getting dazed, and then being okay, which can’t be a good sign. Also the green circles all over her body. Those can’t be good, either.
  • Oh good, she’s ordered the cure and taken it. Green circles are gone, and she’s fine again. Just in time for work.
  • Niks was promoted to DigiTheif. She is an Oracle.

I have given them a pool. It’s in the basement. I’m pretty fond of it, honestly. It took a while to put together, and I wasn’t sure if it would turn out okay, but I think it did. A lot of other things have been changed/added to the house since it moved lots, so I’m going to have to do a pictures post later.

  • Evan has been promoted to Astronaut. Go Evan! He also brought home a stray with him. It is not a nice dog. He’s still trying to make friends with it, though.
  • He brought it inside, gave it a bath, and then went to bed. Thankfully the dog did not stay around once he stopped paying attention to it. This is not the time to get a dog, EVAN.
  • Niks has the worst luck when it comes to getting hurt. She was out playing in the rain and got hit by lightning. Twice.

Pictures from the Main House

Here are some family pictures, since I realized that the Main House got a little ignored when it came to showing off the people.

Niks

Evan

Dorian

Isla

Kenzie

And now for all the house upgrades that have happened since the last time.

Because of Evan’s career path, he needed some basic things. “Basic”. Not like they aren’t HUGE AND COST A FORTUNE.

A third floor was added. With a room specifically for kids. Two, actually, because there’s a playroom over there too. Evan’s bedroom is in the front right corner here. Niks is sleeping in the back right bedroom. Because they won’t share a bed yet. In the top left corner you see a gaming rig, and I had to lock the door for everyone, since they wouldn’t go to work, or do anything, they just all played the game.

The master suite has stayed the same, mostly. I changed the tub to one from the vampires add-on since everyone was going all the way into the basement to have a bath.

Nothing much has changed on the main floor.

And the basement, where I have left another little bedroom for strays.

Now With Pictures!

MARCH 1, 2019

Me: just gonna play Sims for an hour or so. Me, 4 hours later: *has achieved almost no story, but has moved house to bigger lot, built outbuilding, perfected sim outfits, rearranged house and bought new furniture.*

  • Okay, since there was a request, I’m back on the Sims bullshit to get some images of the house. Before I get started on posting that, I have some updates.
  • Getting Ghost Mom back into the family structure also brought back her writing royalties. Which means the twins are no longer in danger from their massive bills and lack of income. I wish this is how real life worked.
  • This means that the dumb sister doesn’t have to be married off now, and she can focus on her videogames. As if she could ever be PRIED AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER TO DO SOMETHING USEFUL OR CONTRIBUTE TO THE HOUSEHOLD.
  • This also means the smart sister’s apparent plot to marry the last Goth heir right before he dies to inherit his money is no longer necessary. I might let her see it through anyway. Just to. You know. No reason. I’m not into this black widow idea. What are you talking about.
  • I realize I may have neglected to mention this. She took up a romance with him despite my urging otherwise. She’s “young adult” age, and he’s “elder”. I can’t figure another reason why she’d be doing this.
  • Anyway. Pictures.

Here’s the exterior of the house. It started small, and I kept building on. I think it’s got a classic feel of “Hey! We have money now! Let’s add a room!”

This whole floor was built to help the parents get away from the children they didn’t take care of. Now it belongs to Smart Sister, Kenzie. I don’t play favourites, what.

Main floor, which includes the twins’ old bedroom, which now belongs to Dumb Sister, Isla. Yes, I even crammed her work space in there. I did change the shared downstairs bath to her en suite. I’m not a complete monster.

The basement offices and gym. The only way to keep my original Sim, Delilah, happy, since it kept roommate-turned-husband, Zechariah away from her. Seriously. Why did they want to get married so bad? Kenzie uses these rooms now.

Backyard mausoleum exterior.

Mausoleum interior. The extra urns are because when I moved the house, I did something wrong and it copied everything. They’re empty, and monetarily worthless, so I kept them as decoration.

  • All the paintings you see everywhere were done by Zechariah. There’s more that don’t show because I took these in build mode with the walls down. Getting into the spaces to show them off with the walls up is a PITA.
  • For all his faults – being gloomy, clingy, socially inept, I do have to say that Zechariah was a prolific painter. Most of the family fortune comes from the sheer number of masterpieces he cranked out. Or that I made him crank out. Whatever.
  • Is it sweet or weird that Kenzie AND her elderly boyfriend both just had their first kiss?
  • I swear to god if Isla pees herself or passes out from exhaustion one more time because she refuses to get up from the fucking computer, I’m gonna find a way to set her on fire. THIS IS WHY I CALL YOU THE DUMB ONE, ISLA.
  • Also, in death, Delilah and Zechariah have forgotten they were married, and are starting a new romance. I mean. Guys. You kinda failed at this once already.
